It's been an emotional past 48 hours with my family. My Dad's resting heart rate has been erratic so he ended up having a stress test that he couldn't finish, so they did it chemically. He was admitted to the hospital for a heart cath but they started talking open heart surgery. Fortunately they were able to do a stint and balloon 2 more arteries, no open heart surgery. Whew! In the midst of that my step brother is undergoing tests for his thyroid and the second mass that is growing quickly behind it.
In all of that I kept thinking about genetics certainly plays a part but so does what and how we eat and exercise. It's a reminder to me to make good choices for me for now and my future.
