So, hoping not to commandeer Hunter's journal - but what would be the cut for waist and hips about the same size but chunky thighs? Hunter, what are your fit issues? Do you have any?

Probably relaxed fit, or maybe baggy style. And as Carmen mentioned, the fabric weight can make a big difference too.

Isn't that the BEST feeling? Almost as good as having a member of the opposite sex give you a second look or having an old friend notice all the weight you've lost.

One last thing I will say about jeans sizes. Don't let the size number get to you when you are shopping -- I can wear between an 8 and 14 depending on the brand and cut, and maybe even a 16 in a designer brand. While getting into an 8 might make me feel good, a 14 might disturb me if I were counting on a smaller size. I'm only pointing this out because I don't want anyone to get discouraged if they can fit into one size today and needs a larger size tomorrow -- it doesn't necessarily mean you have gained weight.
