Yesterday was my first day on the diet. This diet was suggested by my doctor, so I bought the book and began reading. The first week is pure protein--and let me tell you--after a full day, I am really not that enthused about meat, and am resorting to eggs and egg substitutes. Had a wonderful cheese omlet for supper last night.

I am however noticing the urge to snack is gone, and since all of my "comfort foods" are out, I am having no problems dealing with what is going on--instead of eating. I also noticed a huge weightloss during the day--as I lost all of my retained water and the scale finally started moving downward again.

I am also drinking plenty of water--as instructed in the book. This diet is making me thirsty--which is a good thing. Also, I was instructed to test my bloodsugar 2 hours after eating, and it was down to 94--however, I did go on a mile walk at the park--since my busy day of going to the doctor had not allowed me to do so.

Overall this first week of all protein may be tough, but I am seeing some huge benefits--and my fasting blood sugar was 99, which is really good for me.
310.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 10.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I have same prob as u. High blood sugars. So the primal blueprint has brought them way down.But weight loss hasen't happend. Wish u continued success

Thanks. This is working for me, but the diet is pretty tough to follow. I am getting used to it though.
