Just a couple of thoughts, Amber - could be salt intake, but it could also be your body's reaction to trauma from the root canal. When you've damaged an area of the body it panics and GRABS water, it helps the healing process. Give it some time and keep doing what you're doing, next week will be better :-) And I'm sorry about the root canal - yuck. Had those, don't like 'em.

Agreed - it's not likely it's a real weight gain. Did they put you on antibiotics? Those can impact weight too.

You guys are so awesome! I didn't think of any of that, but it totally makes sense! I did get an antibiotic, and apparently that is very common (according to Dr. Google).
Thank you everyone! ♡

No matter what caused the increase on scale, but I agree it is most likely water, you did what was best for your overall health this week. Blood clots are way too dangerous to take chances with.

Obviously you know that weight can fluctuate but there is something called cortisol and you should go to the internet and kind of look it up if you're not getting enough sleep your melatonin will lower your cortisol to raise which causes your body to store fat I keep telling people and I truly believe it to be true that you really need to get at least 7 hours sleep and you need to drink at least one half your body weight in fluid non sugary but don't get disappointed because you are trending in the right direction
