Want2BFit's Journal, 10 November 2009

I think I might be getting sick. I woke up w. a sore throat and have been coughing and the like all day. My office is insanely cold so that doesn't help either, but I truly can't afford to get sick, first off b/c I'm temping which leaves me no guarantee and I don't want to miss my workouts. I was so excited, I finally busted my plateau. I went to the office gym today just to run off some boredom, I felt like some endorphins would help me get through the remainder of the afternoon staring at the same numbers i've been looking @ since Friday. So I got on the scale fully clothes and it barely settled on 170, meaning I'm way below 170. I'ts been a long time coming, but I'm so excited. I'm not sure if anyone else thinks this way, but i hate getting sic b/c my mom feels the need to give me 'juice' which is loaded w. sugar and all i can think of is carbs and not being able to work out; so in addition to not being able to work out, god forbid i was really sick i'd be paranoid that i'd be back @ 172 again! You don't understand that # has taunted me for like 2 months! So I can't give Shakeology all the credit as its too soon to tell, but i def think that as well as my diet contributed to my stomach behaving. It's such a welcome relief to not feel bloated all the time, plus there's a ton of water in veggies (I think lol) so between all the bottles of water, seltzer, tea and coffee that I drink I'm beyond hydrated. Granted, I had pizza and M+M's on Sunday so I haven't been 100%, but I still feel good and I don't wake up feeling like I'm carrying yesterdays meals. I'm trying to talk myself into doing my workout video, but i can't get from under the covers lol. Argh!

don't workout until you get over the cold. your body needs all it's energy to fight the illness. drink plenty of water, heb tea, and maybe add some vitamin C to help your immune system. this is just my opinion of course, I'm not a doctor! but I really think a few days of rest won't make any damage...

Take care of yourself. Your health is more important and you know that. Get better and get back to it. Hugs

Honestly we always over push ourselves when we're sick...You'll be fine if you give yourself a few days rest, and ease back into it. (I'll never listen to my own advice either). Hope you get well soon!
