Cozwey's Journal, 11 March 2016

My wife suggested it was time for me to update my journal as it has been over a month. As of this morning I am officially down 30 pounds this round of my Atkins diet. Over all (from my original heaviest) I am down 49.6 Lbs.

We have gone through my closet and removed all the "fat" clothes and donated them. I have a few things that had to be dusted off and ironed but were okay at first. Now even my too small or too tight items are swimming on me. I was a 40" waist but now I am between 34-32". Atkins works well for me. My blood sugar is hovering at about 5.5 - 6.5.

The main thing I can say is that I do not cheat from the basic concept of the Atkins diet. I have on occasion had more protient or a bit more fat, but never have I pushed the carbs beyond net 20. I have consistantly stayed in Ketosis. My Calories have been at 1700/day or a bit less for a month now.

We weigh everything and count it all. Atkins works for me!

Excellent, how do you know if you are in Ketosis? Do you use the keto strips?

Not cheating is the key point. I'm extremely sensitive to sugar and carbs and keep my net carbs below 20, too. If I go up too much I will gain and I don't want that. I'm not exactly sure what my "critical carbohydrate" level is, but I would guess around 35-40, and that's just too thin of a line to mess with.

Well, you look quite handsome! Great job! I am always successful on Atkins. Mr. Atkins was a genius as far as I'm concerned and I love the way he wrote his book. He would be quite disappointed if he saw the way they took his company after he passed.

The Atkins diet is really bad for you. It has been proven to lead to high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
