Windy Day's Journal, 24 September 2024

Good morning. It's a gray damp Tuesday, but Im doing fine. Been busy/quiet lately. Lot of rearranging inside (heart) and out (home). I find I have a cyclical tendency to deep clean/nest come the fall season.

Found an interesting article yesterday concerning the biochemistry behind the root causes behind stubborn fat. I will include end of post in case anyone wishes to read it. Basic premise/approach to losing stubborn fat is ELEL/EMEM translated: Eat Less Exercise Less/Eat More Exercise More. Apparently this alternating WOE helps to mitigate the core causes behind those stubborn fat pounds that just wont budge no matter how hard we try. It does mention supplements as supporting adjuncts but I believe the method could be effective without them. I think for me it merits a try anyway. What's to lose? (haha pun intended 😁)

Hope everyone is having a terrific Tuesday! xo

I have also been doing some rearranging at home. Need to do more. I do carb and calorie cycling sometimes. For me losing weight is about moving more and eating less. I seem to do one or the other.

That's kind of the idea behind it, to eat more when you do more and to eat less when you are less active. Cycle between the two to keep the body guessing! So you are doing intuitively what I needed to learn from somewhere. I was doing more exercise on my lowest calorie days and that is totally opposite according to this article at least. Who knows! Whatever works! After a long summer spent mostly outdoors I like to make the house freshly cozy for the cold months spent indoors.

that's what I do when I'm trying to lose I want 500 to 800 deficit and total cals change everyday based on activity I find it better then a set number of calories every single day

OTB, if that's how you do it, I know its a win. And it makes sense to consume more cals on high physical activity days. Im going to give it a shot. I think Ive been hindering my own progression.

If I know I have a sedentary day ahead of me I definitly alter my meal choices accordingly

Kenna, apparently that is what I need to do. I have been approaching it more from a weekly perspective rather than daily, and found myself working out on my lower calorie days fairly often, as well as higher calorie days coinciding with less activity. So maybe I have inadvertently been sabotaging my efforts. I always thought the calorie restriction/burn effect was more cumulative but maybe Ive been wrong. I sure have not been able to shed these last pounds and Ive consistently put forth the effort - well till more recently. I've rather lacked the motivation due to such minimal result to effort ratio.
