F8thful1's Journal, 14 September 2011

Some days I am discouraged that I am losing so slowly and being so diligent about avoiding foods that I love but should not eat. I do feel good eating on the low carb WOE; it is just that I am anxious to move along in my weight loss so that I don't lose focus and start the 'carb creep' that I know can happen for slow losers.

So today I need to remind myself that I weigh less now than I have in several years. That is a great accomplishment. At the same time, I am not done yet. I want to get the fat off my mid-section and so I am going to have to WORK HARD to do this as it is very comfortable on my body!

What will my response be? Whine because I am only losing one pound per week? Or rejoice that I can STILL lose weight and make the most of my efforts by doing more exercise.

The choice is mine!

F8thful1 - at 1 lb. a week you'll lose 52 pounds a year. What is wrong with that? And, if you figure out how to get the weight off your mid-section, please let me know.

A pound a week is perfect! Even though it may seem slow, it gives your body time to adjust and it gives YOU time to become completely comfortable in this WOE. Even if carb creep happens, you'll have had more time in this WOE and be better able to spot it and take corrective action. You're doing great!

Just look at your weight loss graph. It speaks volumes about your success. The reality is, we struggle more at mid-life to lose weight. It's hormones, it's more cellulite (in my case), you name it. However, think about the clothes you are wearing now that you couldn't in May! REJOICE!
