Two weeks ago, my awesome husband found out that we won a vacation to Jamaica through his work. We are very excited about it, and I plan on enjoying every second of the trip. It will be a great experience for us, especially because we have never really had a true vacation before (we eloped, so we never even got to experience a honeymoon together). It is an adult only resort, so the kids will not be going with us either.
Knowing that we are going to a place that requires me to wear a bathing suit makes me very appreciative of the weight that I have lost in the past five months. I still have some time to shed a little more before we go (we leave in mid April), and it has made me even more motivated! I ordered a new bathing suit last week in size 14/16 (because my old one is now too big...yay!!!) and I just got it in the mail today. My first thought as I took it out of the box was that there was no way that it was going to fit me. Not only did it fit, it actually looked great!
As if my ego needed to be stroked even more, I decided to also try on the gym shirt that I had just gotten for signing up at my local gym. When they asked what size I wanted, I had told them a large because I wanted to work my way down to that size. I was completely shocked to find that the large fit me perfectly and I should have asked for a medium instead.
I tell you, moving down in clothing sizes really does a lot for your motivation and confidence!!!
