Sandy701's Journal, 13 September 2011

Day off from walking on Sunday (9/11); 3.1 miles yesterday (Monday, 9/12) and 3.5 miles today (9/13).

Beautiful sunny days, but it's getting warmer....and more humid....oh well, we knew it couldn't last.

We decided to boost the US economy yesterday and actually ran the heat pump to get the pool warm enough to swim in. We started at about 77 degrees and managed to get it to nearly 86 by day's end, albeit with some help from the sun. We didn't lose too much heat overnight but I boosted the temp this AM anyway. I plan on heading in for another swim within this next hour. The heat pump is turned off now because there's all this nice warm sun shining on the pool.

Just the usual household stuff going on today. I plan on tackling the kitchen, as all the cabinets need a good cleaning on the outside and the baseboards are in desperate need as well....how can something so sheltered get so dirty???!!

Buffy, I noticed you joined - Yay! It's not super hard, but that 1st mini-challenge is something that I need to be reminded of on a continuing basis!

Karen, my house is normally in a state of disarray, but I took advantage of the great weatehr recently to wash all the throw rugs and air-dry them. I want to put them back now, but then I (unfortunately) noticed the floor and baseboards! Whaddayagonnado???

Hi Sandy - Thanks for the invite, I like the first mini challenge best (re: something positive EVERY DAY!) There just has to be something...ONE thing at least that was good - diet wise - about the day...right? Cleaning projects that uncover more cleaning projects...sheesh, been there done that before & probably will again cause thats what happens when your eyes actualy SEE something, all of a sudden like! Actually, I was feeling like I should have done some cleaning like that, but today we are experiencing a very smoky smell in the air & smoggy looking even though it supposed to be sunny, all due to a forest fire in Minnesota! I have never experienced anything like that before. I am thinking my entire house is going to smell & will require extensive cleaning AFTER the fire is out!

GG...I accidentally opened up all the windows of the house when we lived in TX, thinking to enjoy the strong breezes that had kicked up. Little did I know that it was a dust storm coming! Live & learn. Hope you kept your windows closed to the smoke.

Bren, I actually think we missed the baseboards when we moved in....when we were cleaning the cabinets. Probably thought, "Oh we'll get to that later..." but never did. After all the burgers that we grill and the chicken that we roast, there's that light (or not-so-light) greasiness that just has to go!!! I got about half the work done in the time I set aside for it because I found more that needed cleaning. I HATE CLEANING! So, I've got to set aside more time on Thursday to get this done. I wish it would stay that way forever, but it won't unless we start eating out all the time - LOL! Now if I could just get the dogs to stop dropping hair, and maybe do some cleaning of their own....yup, that's the ticket! You have a good evening too.

I'm afraid to use any thing but dawn as alot of the stuff will take the finish off...LOL let me know if you can get the dogs to clean for ya..I might invest in a couple for my home...LOL...
