This weekend, for the first time, I went shopping at Old Navy. It was almost a test run in my mind, because I'd never been able to wear clothes there before (unless bought online from the Plus Size section), so I figured I wouldn't be able to now. About 20 minutes later I walked out smiling like a fool with a big Old Navy bag in my hand filled with sweaters for work and yoga pants for the gym. They fit :). And it felt GREAT. I actually walked into a store and didn't feel embarassed to have my hubby tag along because I was shopping regular sizes in a regular store. Granted, I wear an XXL in their women's section, but dang it felt good! I will actually probably go down to an XL by Christmas because the XXL sweaters I got are not tight at all, very loose and comfy. I know that to some of you this story is silly and means nothing, but to some of you it might mean hope and inspiration that you can do it too. Not all stores will accomodate me yet (NY & Co. is my next target, but their sizing is significantly smaller than Old Navy). But just to know that I've started to cross over to the clothes I actually want makes all the difference. Love, peace, and determination to all :)
