Oh my goodness me I stopped eating this kind of platefuls of food a long time ago! Stopped eating potatoes, corn, battered and deep fried foods completely!

GarethPearce, I'm glad you found something that works for you I noticed that you don't mention what you do eat ironically though. When getting criticisms I would prefer you to mention what you eat and since your profile is on private I find that it's very easy for you to say such things that you don't back up. For myself I'm now reaching my third almost fourth year of maintenance and I have up my weight allowance to be 125 pounds so that I can continue gaining muscle because my doctor would prefer me to be a slightly heavier weight. That being said I normally eat meals that are comprised to be their veggies some cheese or hummus but as you can see my husband likes to prepare meals that are a little bit more traditional. I think the takeaway that you missed there is that my husband was very kind to prepare something for me. Unfortunately, I've developed a bad habit that often times I skip meals entirely and because of my busy schedule if I skip a meal I just move on I don't eat more the next meal and I don't typically replace the meal later I just move on cuz it's easier and quicker. I personally look of it as a money saving technique that helps me overall maintain my body weight. As for mashed potatoes I've adored mashed potatoes since I was a child and now eat them so rarely I hardly fault myself for eating a little mashed potatoes or other potato products every now and again. If you wish to live your life without a potato that's your choice but I think you're living a very dull life indeed. As for corn in the cob off the grill I'm not concerned about any veggie that's been grilled with no butter or salt if you are well that's kind of silly, but you do you boo. Yes, I realize that it's a starch, but my doctor says that I need to eat more carbohydrates than what I've been eating and that it would help with my energy stores so I'm not really concerned about what you eat unless you're a friend of mine and then of course I'll be very invested. As for the battered cube steak it was delicious and if you choose not to eat it that way I can understand why, I don't eat it very often, but oh it was good. And being said red meat in general typically upsets my tummy so I don't eat a lot of it and I did suffer for it it was still delicious. And I was very grateful to my husband for being so kind to make it. I did have to talk him out of going back up to work and yelling at my boss for not allowing me to eat my lunch and me spending my break doing the truck order instead of sitting down. Once again I think you have missed the point that I'm combining multiple meals and oftentimes I'm still missing my calorie Mark of for maintenance. Since I'm meeting all my nutritional markers the occasional fried food here or there doesn't concern me.

@Leah_guffey, Well said my friend! I’ve found, with some people it’s best not to engage in conversation; you and I both know all of us are made differently and we also know that what works for some doesn’t work for others, all we can do is lead by example and do what’s best for ourselves and our family. I applaud you and your hubby for all you are doing to maintain on your journey and for Ryan helping you on your journey. Just know it doesn’t matter if you don’t please everyone else; what matters is you are doing what works for you and it pleases you and your family. We all should be supportive of one another. We know we aren’t perfect in anything, we don’t have to be perfect, all we have to do is the very best we can.
