One day at a time. Set a challenge for yourself. 30 days, 60 days, etc. I'm doing a 100 day challenge. almost 1/4 of the way done and loving it 😊 Hopefully building new habits!!

One day at a time, don’t give up Dolittle things. It’s better than trying to do big things and I’ve been doing is exercises on the bed because of my broken hip. Just never never give up.

I've hated counting calories but I found that if I figure out my calories for the week and make that my goal instead of daily its easier to stick too. There's days I eat my problems away too, but i still record my calories even if there like 3000 calories or more and I feel like giving up, but usually I feel motivated the next day to eat less at get back on track, and since my goal is for the week a high day here or there doesn't discourage me because I have time to do better on other days to hit my weekly calorie goal, I've been looseing weight pretty well this way. And its the easiest way of counting calories i have tried, i shoot for 2 lbs aweek but some weeks I loose more. Good luck with whatever you find works. You can do this.

It's hard to get started but you can do this! Just remember, one day at a time and for me planning, prepping, and logging everything I eat is essential to my success.

I'm 71 and diabetic...and struggle most days to behave well. I can only stand 5 minutes before my back gives out and my legs go numb so that's been a "problem" for over a year now....I need to look at the "positives" of each day and be willing to change what I can. There are so many who have less than I do to work with and yet do more with it. Praying you find sparks of joy in each new day. Bless you in your journey!

I too eat my feelings and problems and depression. I’ve been told to try counseling/therapy or support groups. Sound like good advice but I still haven’t. And still struggle with it. :/ I do find that logging food and exercise helps. Seeing it. When I don’t do that, I manage to get off track. Like right now. Your post is actually helping me to get back on track. Thank you for your honesty and sharing.

My weight always goes up when I am stressed and depressed, which is what is happening to me now. I'm not eating more as much as I'm not eating healthy foods/ snacks. It's important, for me, to not beat myself up for it and know that I have made very positive progress in the past and I can do it again. For now, I'm not barreling forward with progress but I know I can and will again. If I only can manage baby steps, then that's what I do because even baby steps count! Hang in there Msbentley ~ if your inner dialogue is saying mean and nasty things, tell her she's a liar and start a list of all the GOOD things about yourself, say them out loud, write them down so you always have them.... anything to keep that defeatist voice out of your head. Every day do ONE thing, that's all, just one thing to keep you on track...it doesn't matter how small or insignificant it may be, it's progress and is just as infectious as negativity. I'm rooting for you sweetheart!! :-)

I struggle with emotional eating and disordered eating. the biggest thing that changed my tune about it was a workbook called The Glow Approach by Dr Lynn Shroyer!! Her workbook puts food back into its place of nutrition and learn about to address the emotional eating and cope with the stresses head on.
