Every now and again, I like baked beans as a treat, but they have an insane amount of sugar and sodium. So I drained and rinsed a can of black beans, mixed the two, and ate a measured portion. Still really, really good

I don't recall seeing that one, Big Orr. A limiting factor for me is finding vegetarian. Most baked beans have meat, which I don't eat. I was also looking for the smallest can I could find since it's just the two of us. I try to follow the WHO recommendations of no more than 6 teaspoons of added sugars. Allows me kombucha, a little dark chocolate, a bit of maple syrup on my morning oatmeal or jam on a slice of toast here and there, all in moderation, but not going wild

Big Orr mentioned that, too, Morticia. These were the only ones I found in a small can that were vegetarian, so I went with them. I've never made them myself, but I suppose I could. wifey-- I've been doing the Dr. Greger's Daily Dozen app, so I've been trying to get in three 1/2 cup servings of beans, tofu, and/or tempeh a day. Absolutely love them!

Awesome, Big Orr! I'll look for them next time I get a craving now that I know there's no meat. Thank you!
