At least it hasn't gone up. That's the best I can say for this week. Some personal strife threw me off the last couple of days. Finally found some advice that may be helpful for fixing my sleep habits. All the advice I kept finding was geared toward people who struggled to fall asleep. My problem is waking up too early. Having to face facts that the caffeine could be a component, so I'm now limiting it to before 8 a.m. Fingers crossed it'll help.

I also fall asleep okay and wake up too early. I don't use caffeine.

I think it's pretty common as we age, Morticia, and in postmenopausal women. Mine is out of control, though. It's not bad when I fall asleep at 8 and wake up at 4. It's the nights I literally can't keep my eyes open after 7 and then wake up at 2 a.m. that wreck me

I find that vigorous exercise helps me sleep. I do a mix. 20 or 30 minute burst, or if longer, I alternate between brisk, rest, burst. I also only drink decaf which still has a tiny bit of caffeine and the other benefits of regular.

I should probably keep a sleep log, outerlimit, and see how well exercise and sleep track to determine if there's a correlation. I tend to be a weekend warrior on vigorous exercise. I cross country ski and hike, and recently started mountain biking, but I'm often not good about exercising on the off days. I've had some lousy nights' sleep after a hard day skiing, but maybe if I'm more consistent it would help

I hope you find relief in not waking up to early

My dr told me to take over the counter 250 mg magnesium at bedtime. It has helped me to relax and fall asleep as well as stay asleep.

Neicy -- I may try that. I take magnesium already for digestion, but I can move that dose to dinner to see if it has any effect on sleep. Thanks! buenitabishop -- the last couple of nights seem as if they've been better. I'm thinking the caffeine strategy may be helping. Appreciate your concern ❤️
