Stress level is high and not eating much. I am concerned about my estranged husband tracking me through our insurance driving tracker. He did not have it until recently, so not he can see everywhere I have been the past month. That gives him ideas on places I go and hang out and generally feel uncomfortable. And the carrier and the local agents both were useless to help me. So yay...

Change your insurance plan, even if it's with the same agency you don't 'have' to have the tracking plan. Or, just change to another company full stop. Is there a device you can remove from your car, or an app you can uninstall? Those kinds of plans are generally so invasive!

You want to get off the same plan. If he were to get in an auto accident and found negligent and liable for bodily or property damage in excess of the plan coverage your assets and future earnings as well as his are up for grabs.

But I now recall you might work in the insurance industry. So talk with an agent and ask for recommendations.

We had tracking with State Farm and it is useless anyway. We can't see where it really saves us money and we don't like the invasion of privacy. I think they could use that tracking against you during a claim.

Yes, I am an agent and didn't mind the privacy invasion until this happened. They are splitting the policies but they say it can take a month. Crazy when we make changes in real time. Even if I remove myself it won't be immediate due to being married.

Those driving tracking devices are a joke; we hated it! Get rid of it TODAY! Break free starting NOW! TODAY! You'll have one less thing to do later. Everyday do one new thing to be free from him and don't even tell him you're doing it. Start with your insurance. You don't know him anymore, he's just a former co-worker who was once a thorn in your side. And be grateful you're not eating through your stress, because gained weight would be just one more problem to deal with. Good luck to you.

that's a concerning privacy breach. can you explain circumstances with companies as it could be safety issue?

You can split policies in a matter minutes so that’s BS. I was an agent for 2 major carriers. If it’s phone based go into settings and turn off location services in the app. If it is the company that uses the device in the car unplug it. The savings are not worth 1. Your life 2. The stress it’s creating. I’d call out the insurance agent for the lack of care immediately.

It seems like a phone call to turn off this feature should work, but I wouldn’t know. I don’t know about this. I don’t know your situation except what has been posted here. Respectfully, we all walk our own path with our own challenges. Seeking a professional (therapist and any other guidance) to help sort this out, and heal, and help with getting your heart, mind, and soul in a good place may provide you with support. Wishing you the best in your journey. We all have our own battles. 💙

There must be something on your end to keep it from tracking. Go to where you buy these gadgets. But I thought I read that he finally left so maybe he's not caring about tracking you? Good luck with all that and again find the places that sell those trackers. I'm sure they can help. Or possibly police/detective.

Well, I decided fo leave it for now because I don't want to give him tje satisfaction of messing up my insurance. I think State Farm is lame to take a month to process a change when I took work in insurance. But when I quote myself, it costs much more. They said eventually it will go away and I will not be able to see him and visa versa. Granted he has not been by my house or anything. Looks like he it working 12 hour days again so too busy to be crafty.

If he is tracking you and you are afraid of what he would do will do contact the sherrifs office. A restraining order is basically useless because you would have to be in constant company with LEO. File a stalking report have YOUR attorney file a cease and desist through HIS attorney then there is a record of what has BEEN going on. Let people you trust KNOW where you are headed if your going to remote areas.

@jasonsdragon Since I posted this, the insurance changes seems to have taken place and he can't see me anymore. He came by the house once and took a phone charger but I was told he was posting on his fb yesterday that he misses me. So I am not feeling unsafe.
