This is a gorgeous photo. We also have blueberry bushes in our backyard but to be honest with you by the time we get to them, they’re all gone eaten by the birds if there’s no way to protect them, their wild the birds and the bushes.❤️❤️❤️❤️

Pretty picture! Mine are loaded, but still too early up here to be blue-ing up. When they do this early bird needs to be out earlier than the real birds!

Yearofhealth I heard that blueberries do better if you plant two or more different varieties for cross pollination. Plant the second bush asap for your puppies🫐

OTB those blueberry trees were planted by the previous owner of my house. I completely neglect them as I’m not crazy about blueberries. I classify them as bird feeders🤣 I did acidify the soil a bit this year though, only because I planted brambles next to them and I do care about my brambles!

Bear🧸 watch out, they ripe when you least expect it, you know. And then it’s too late because birds get to them before you do even if you sprint faster than Usain Bolt💨

Kenna, strictly speaking I consider blueberries obnoxious but those from my garden were rather nice. Plump and tart. Nothing like the mushy goop from a grocery store🫐

FatD1960, I also grow blackberries and wild strawberries🍓 Fig trees haven’t done jack💔

Ocean girl, exactly, I keep my blueberry bushes for birds. I’m pretty relaxed about wild critters eating in my garden, and I don’t use any barriers to deter them (too lazy).

AJRM1105, I saw that quite a few people posted their blueberry plant pics🫐 Theirs looked way better than mine and I was infinitely humbled🤣

Badjuju, I bet your berries are very nice🫐My blueberry bushes are old but keep producing despite the utter neglect, except last year they produced only 4 berries. I discovered that it was because my neighbor used pesticide heavily in his yard which killed bees💔 So, this year I was determined to grow a massive pollinator garden. I’m just happy that critters are back, I don’t really mind if they eat stuff that grow in my garden🫐🍓 Happy gardening and have a great weekend🌱💚

Good to know! I will. We share strawberries, blueberries, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli with them. Much healthier than processed treats (as well as egg whites and 🍗 chicken when hubs makes it)
