sk.17, I saw steam rising from the pile! My sunglasses fogged up. I rarely tremble with joy but I did this time🤣♨️ BTW the rainbow carrots are thriving, like you said, they are forgiving🥕 

AJRM thank you🩵 My pile was super steamy! Like the hot springs in Yellowstone. Almost eerie. Microbiology is fascinating, isn’t it? I compost mainly as a mini protest against our increasingly germphobic culture. 

Yfritz how did you get the im guessing Russian language to come across? I can never get them to translate. 

Nice new exercise equipment! You can keep it!

Yearofhealth, take a screenshot of the page and highlight whatever you want to read. iPhone translates it for you. Also I can read a little (very little) Russian. I was in love with Dostoyevsky in my teenage years.

wow - my compost pile is not active much. I think it needs water. I'm pretty casual about it. I'm pretty casual in general.  

Катя, здравствуйте, приглашаю вас попробовать клубнику, которую я выращиваю у себя в саду🍓 

Sharon, I like making garden soil. It makes me happy. My compost in the tumbler is not very hot either and it’s ok (I didn’t achieve 170F until I started using an open air system as opposed to a tumbler). The important thing is, we are both composting👯‍♀️ I love your cold compost from the bottom of my heart! You see, we are not sending stuff to landfills, and that’s good enough for me. But I do want you to experience the marvelous feeling of seeing steam rising from the compost heap… Imagine seeing that in winter❄️ That’s my goal🤣 I hope you’re enjoying your garden, and let me know how your cilantro is doing. I am in Virginia, the afternoon sun is very harsh here, so I planted cilantro near the tomatoes and marigolds, hoping their leaves provide a little shade for the dainty cilantro. So far the strategy is working🌱
