A "pause" on the scale today. I did work really hard on the walking (for me) yesterday. Went for a walk last night and ended up with 9142 steps, my best so far. And my brother STILL beat me ;) My intent was to get 8500 but the last loop was farther than I needed to complete it. I'm competing against myself while seeing how close I can get to passing others in my M-F challenge on fitbit. Better every week. Each day may not be a PR and that's ok. Each day may not log a drop and that's (UGH) ok ;) Since 12/15, I've dropped 11.4 lbs. I remind myself of that each time I whine about no scale drop.
Today I'll stick with 8000-8500 as a goal for walking. It's doable and I'm scaling up so it'll become part of my routine and I can be consistent. I do want to drop 2-3 this week if at all possible so I'll fit into those pants for work next week. Otherwise I have to go shopping for pants Sunday and that's just not nice to buy a pair of pants for like a week. :/ Seriously.
I'll save my main meal for later this afternoon when I meet a colleague for dinner at Sweet Tomatoes (soup/salad bar type place). NO MINIMUFFINS. I'm already planning out in my head what I'm having and will check the menu online to see if there's any soup I can/want to have without derailing me either food- or salt-wise.
The focus is on the people and the conversation. Food is for nutrition. I'll keep repeating that to myself as I smell the brownies...
Have a successful day, buddies. Make a small daily goal for yourself to surpass but also find something today that makes you smile and another that gives you hope.
I hope your day is sweet...
