Shrewdness's Journal, 25 April 2024

I am extremely disappointed as yesterday I walked and walked and I absolutely knew this morning I would see at least 4,000 and something steps that I had taken. To some people that’s not very much, but to me that’s a lot. I want to get, I usually do, between 3,000 to 3,500 steps in daily, yet I haven’t been doing that lately so yesterday I thought wow I’m really gonna get my steps in today. It turned out just to be 2,338!!!☹️😩 I guess my goal today is at least my regular 3,000+! I may be slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter...but I am going to walk!!! Lately, if there was an award for taking the fewest steps in a day, I wouldn't get it because I wouldn't walk up to the stage to receive the award.🥺 Too much sitting at my desk, that has to change! I’ve been told that sitting on a computer 8 hours a day is unhealthy, but that's why I am using a chair.😆 OUT..🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

I have always felt compelled to get a lot of steps, like 15,000 a day in, but my doctor says that setting goals based on someone elses made up idea of health is not very productive. He says that whatever your normal steps are in a day doing activities of daily living, I should add 2000 steps to that. Anything over 7000 doesn't add that much benefit. I do want to get in that 10,000 though. (I'm a Taurus. We can't help it).

Katsolo, I think we should really enjoy this weekend. I hope you don’t have to work it. I’m no longer working on Saturdays as they got help for me and I am lucky, she’s great! I drink tons of coffee, but never get adrenaline out of it. I could use some.😁 Take care of yourself my San Diegan friend!💕

Morticia you’re right and that’s why I didn’t even wanna post that. I only do 3,000 a day. So many on here get 10,000 in easily, yikes!!! I’m glad to hear that Dr says get your normal steps in and maybe a bit more, but tons doesn’t make much more of a difference health wise. I know I feel better if I do as many as I can. Hope you’re doing well. I know you have a lot on your plate. Blessings to you and enjoy your day if you can, sounds like you’re really busy.🤗🥰

Zoofeature, I live too close to LA, they just had a police chase yesterday. The guy they were chasing plowed into a biker going to work and hit him so hard, he’s in pieces. I’m not biking on the streets here. Plus, if you bike, like my son does, in the city, please please have mirrors and watch your back. Scary!! Thanks though, we have bikes in the mountains that I never ride.🙃😁
