Another day. But a good one! I can't remember if I journaled it, but I went to CG to visit my cousin on Sunday and the car decided to start leaking and smoking. Had my uncle look at it, he says a hose broke. So he replaced it for me with, granted, another old hose, but said it should at least get me home. Ok! So then I drive over to my cousins house, and just when I turn off the ignition and get out, I smell something bad. (coming from the car) And its making a noise again. Great. At this point, its too late at night and dark to do anything about it so I hitch a ride home with my roommate who mercifully works in CG and got off late that night.
So Monday. Drive down there with roommate who works again that evening, we went early though so he could look at the car. (along with my cousins boyfriend) Find out its another busted hose. Guess there was a domino effect going on in that engine! They work on, but roommate has to get to work, so then my other cousin comes over to help the boyfriend. They buy the necessary parts, take the engine apart since thats the only way to reach it. (Should have heard them cursing the name of Ford) Then cousin has to get home at 7pm. My uncle comes over and wraps it up with the boyfriend. (continue cursing of the Ford) It took until 11:30 at night to finish. What a pain in the butt, I am sooooo grateful though they did that for me. I wait for roommate to get off (conveniently at 11:30...interesting how everything works out, isn't it?) I wanted him to follow me home in case the whole dang explorer decided to burst into flames or something...(its an hour ride back home) Never have I been so scared to drive a car, this has never happened to me before, I don't like not trusting what I'm driving..not a good feeling. That feeling disappeared halfway home. While checking the temp gage every half a second and seeing it not budge, I managed to relax. :) So home, the car made it with no incident, (thank God) and waiting for my fiancee. He flew back from Texas this morning and our roommate went to pick him up for me so that I don't have to be the one to test the hand of fate with that dang automobile. (Glenn can when he drives it to work..haha) If you think that's mean spirited, you don't understand. He blamed ME for what went wrong with that car. Said I shouldn't have driven it that far. I tell the guys who worked on it that, they said its not my fault. There was very little engine oil in the car, very little transmission oil, NO antifreeze, and NO water in it. Basically it was bone dry and it was his lack of car maintenance that resulted in the overheating and cracking. So.. lol
Anyways, I look forward to seeing him again, I did miss him. He should be landing soon. :)
In other news, I lost some weight! I want to weigh myself once a week, but the challenge I'm in calls for every day, so for the challenge, I'll do it every day, and then go back to weekly. :)
