Happy Thursday

Big news is Hurricane Irene is on it's way full speed ahead due to arrive in CT Saturday evening thru Sunday. Oh Boy oh Joy! got a few trees I am a little nervous about that sway pretty good in a storm, keeping fingers crossed they done fall on the house.
Putting away all the patio furniture, plants, chairs, and basically anything not tied down into the basement tomorrow. I guess better to plan and be ready than not plan and be shit out of luck! I am used to having to restock the earthquake kit all the time when we lived in Cali so this is basically the same prep. I got this!

Not feeling like I am losing any lbs this week, will see. Went thru the closet last weekend and dumped 3 more bags of summer stuff to Goodwill and one to consignment shop. I think I am going to seek out a local tailor to do some alterations on some of my winter dress pants & suits. I hate to part with them yet and would really rather wait until next winter to get new ones. Tried on my winter coats too, OMG, two sizes too big...what is a girl to do about that? I have a cousin that I think can get use out of them. Not sure how complicated a winter coat is to alter. Will have to see what the tailor says. Has anyone ever had one altered?

Be good peeps, talk to ya tomorrow!

Hi Babs! I'm glad to see you're taking hurricane precautions. As you say, better safe than sorry. I lived in Florida for quite a few years, so I know the drill. I had a close friend down there who had spent most of her life in San Francisco. She said she'd much rather live in SF because you had no warning when an earthquake would hit. The quakes happened when they happened. The constant news coverage and storm tracking for weeks before a hurricane hit in Florida made her crazy. She really thought she would die of a heart attack before the hurricane came anywhere near her! Congratulations on your latest batch of too-big clothes! Good for you!

Babs - Yes, please do take care. Isn't it fantastic that you've got coats two sizes too big? You are doing great!

Long time since I stopped by, just hope you fair well with that hurricane heading your way. Prep is probably the key. Stay safe - watch those trees! I have no idea about altering a winter coat (AZ... what do I know of winter coats anyway? lol) I guess pass it on and if you're not ready to plunk down the money on another one knowing it'll soon be too big, too, what about thrift stores? I have an amazing one here - I call it my magic thrift store. Always seem to find what I need and I've found it was the best way to stay in clothes that fit on my way down. Congratulations on losing a couple of sizes! That's something to be proud of and to celebrate. Again, stay safe!

Take care in the face of that unwanted visitor. I'll be thinking good thoughts for all you New Englanders. Stay safe.
