GigiDunaway's Journal, 16 March 2024

So, 2024 has been a nut job so far. I'm not a fan. It should learn to behave itself or go to the corner for timeout with 2020. Bad, Year! Bad.

I somehow plateaued weight loss in mid-February. I did have a couple of weeks where I averaged 1600 calories per day instead of 1500, but the rest of those weeks were closer to 1400, so idk what the problem is. I'm thinking perhaps stress, sleep problems, or perhaps some tummy troubles that I'm seeing a doctor about.

I think for now, I'm going to concentrate on keeping calories below 1500 and work on de-stressing as much as possible.

It's easier when you don't have the flu and everything you own isn't needing repairs on the weekly. 😐

Happy weekend to all!!

It could also be low protein. I'm restarting the protein powder, but at one scoop per day, only on workout days, because 2 scoops is just too big of a calorie hit.

This is a horrible year and I wonder if they won't be from now on for us. Hubby started chemo the 3rd of January. And something is always broken here.

I'm sorry, Morticia. Praying for you and your husband. He's the fourth or fifth person this year I know with a cancer diagnosis. 😥

zig zag your calorie intake, and trick your metabolism into turning back on. Our bodies get used to us taking in the minimum calorie and adjust so that we can function on that energy. Look up zig zag dieting, it has worked for me in the past.

I can’t seem to lose weight unless I keep calories below 1000. 🤷‍♀️. It seems that even that just gives me .2 pounds of loss at a time. It’s taken me about 2 months to lose 6 pounds. It’s so discouraging. One thing that seems to help a little is HITT Sprints first thing in the morning. Research supports that just 10 minutes of sprints a day elevates energy and burns more calories for the rest of the day. Of course I can’t do 10 minutes of sprints, talk about agony, but I do what I can when I can. I love the Pelaton commercial, “Run your own race.” That mindset helps me to be more active.
