thinking I definetly want to take a break from drinking alcohol after all the holiday festivities. it's so hard when it's all around me though! anyone have some tips?

Seltzer waters are our go to. They’re carbonated and 0 calorie. My beer drinking husband figured out the carbonation and convenience is why he normally grabbed a beer. You can also add some fruit juice (maybe a lime) and its like a mixed drink

1. Commit to quit. Halfhearted won't work.
2. Remove it from your environment.
3. Stay away from environments you can't control.
4. Form new friendships with sober people.
The most common triggers are people, places, situations, and events where you indulged in the past. Forming new habits requires letting go of old habits.

Like Shake Those Pounds said, replace what's in your glass with sparkling water. I still use my pretty glasses, add a lime, lemon, or other fruit as a garnish. I didn't stop drinking totally, but cut way back.

All good advice! I cut way back on my drinking about 6 months ago and I really believe it has helped me lose weight. I'm taking Mounjaro and it has taken away all of my desire for alcohol. It's not a solution for everyone, but it definitely helped me.

SherryeB that's what I'm hoping to do! Thank you. Take a cleanse of no drinking for the month then only drink once in awhile.
