I would rather do the pain of discipline and feel better about myself in the end.

You know what? I don't like this quote any more. Nobody should suffer. Maybe the mention of emotions would have been better.

This quote is confusing to me.... I think we experience all of these at some point in our lives and is not an either/or type of experience..... unless they are linking it together for some point. I agree with you sugar... discipline is good and we can be free from many hardships with it. We have a choice to wallow in regret and disappointment or to be thankful for what we were blessed with...

Nope. I like it. It reminds me of that line from a Rush song. "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice." I think it's important to be real.

He was a great motivator. I like this one by Jim:
Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. You don’t fail overnight. Instead, failure is a few errors in judgment, repeated every day.
It reminds me to not beat myself up and if I want to ultimately succeed, reduce the daily failures. Thanks for sharing the quote.

I agree with the statement if I can think of discipline as the pain of self denial. No pain, no gain. Forcing my behavior to come under the authority of my brain can be a pain, and can involve an internal fight, though if the brain wins over the will, the results are lovely. Give us another quote to chew on SugarWaffle.

This quote works really well with weight loss. If you are not disciplined you will regret it = not lose weight.
