My weight had spiked a little on Tuesday, almost 1/2 lb from Monday's weigh in. No idea why, as I have been as good as possible this week. I typically seem to spike a little on Tuesday. Perhaps my one glass of wine I often enjoy on Monday evenings is the culprit? I have read that it can slow metabolism for up to a few days. That could certainly explain my trend of stalling from Monday-Thursday, then losing over the weekends. Today was my first drop this week...to 206.6, just .2 lbs under Monday, but at least it's moving in the right direction. I have a birthday in late October, and aiming to be under 200 lbs by then. Yesterday I started going through clothes in my closet...I've filled one big trash bag with clothes that are too baggy on me now, and still another rack of clothes to try on today. If some of the fat accumulated around my midsection would finally give, I would be able to get rid of even more. Appears that's going to be the last weight to go.

Onmyway ... I find that weight "spikes" for a variety of reasons (hormones, water retention, sore muscles, sodium, medications, etc). I also think some up and down is "normal" and nothing to fret about. Each of our bodies has its own rhythym. I wouldn't stress about one glass of wine a week ... but you could experiment if you wanted to and see if that changed things. The bottom line is that you are making excellent progress ... steady progress!!

Yeah, the spikes never last more than a few days, so I'm not really troubled by them...just very curious that they almost always happen on the same day and end pretty close to the same also. I seem to lose most of my weight between Friday and Monday. lol It's not much of a spike either...usually no more than a half lb, but it hangs around until later in the week. Strange how the body works...I'm always trying to figure out how my body reacts to different foods, etc.
