I don’t believe in discipline or self control. I feel that when I try to impose limits on myself, all I want to do is break them. So I give myself total freedom most of the time. Weird thing about total freedom is that it’s boring. Sugary foods and fried foods are boring after a time, and make me feel kind of sh!tty. Sitting around watching tv or playing games is boring. Drinking all the time is boring. What really feels good day after day is eating plenty of fiber and protein, getting in a workout, walking into town to check out a new restaurant instead of driving, going for a run or lifting when I’m stressed. I probably look to some people like I have lots of discipline but the truth is I’m just stuck inside my brain like everyone else, trying to make it feel ok in here.

On that note I’ve been eating A LOT the last week or so, and I think it’s due to resuming lifting now that I’m settled in at my new place, and maybe jumping into it too fast and not getting enough recovery. I’ve also been ridiculously sore and tired and just groaning and struggling through every day. Letting it all slow down and letting myself rest and just sitting still is what I personally struggle with.

I think it makes sense that you would eat more when you're exercising I know I'm always a lot hungrier when I've been exercising personally. Good for starting back lifting and sorry your feeling poorly for it... maybe 🤔 a nice soak 🛁?.

I'm struggling to finish up today but I just have a little more to power through then I can sleep 😴.

@leahguffey a soak sounds amazing, I’ve been wishing for access to a hot tub… unfortunately my house does not have a tub at all, just a standing shower, so I’ve been using an electric heating pad on all the most sore parts of me. But there are so many 😭 Good job getting through your workout 👏 you’ll be glad you did

What fabulous people are over here! I am supposed to hold my prep diet. Which is like zero fat, a minimum of carbs, and a little protein. Instead, I enjoy crackers and apples for dinner. I know that I might not be as good as other athletes on the stage. But at least I enjoyed the process💪😉

I also don't believe in self discipline or self control. Doing something long term has to be b/c you want to do it. I believe in attempts, routines, and habits, which can lead to wants and needs, which can prompt more attempts, routines, habits, etc.
