Back 20 years ago...when I was actually a member of a gym, my leg presses were my strongest part, I could only do 305, it was my max....funny how 10 years later, I reached my max weight of 305 and my legs started complaining about constantly carrying that weight, which is why I joined FS in 2014!

debrafrederick can't say I've ever spent much time in a commercial gym and never done a leg press but I know that's alot of weight lol

Y'all, I was always strong in my legs when I was young. My dad used to tell me that my legs had no other choice but to be strong, because they had to carry the rest of me around 😒🤣

I hear you on that Zen, I rode a horse daily for several hours from age 10 to age 17, and I rode that horse to a lake and swam 1 mile, out to a buoy and back. I had rock hard calves and thighs and back then I probably could have pressed 535 lbs if I had ever had the urge to walk into a gym. After I had my child...at age 18....I had to give up my horses to be a working mom. I never had issues with my leg strength even carrying 240 lbs of weight, I was always in motion. I had a sit down desk job for 20 years, but it was up a steep flight of stairs, the bathroom was downstairs as was the other employees I was supervising so I probably ran up and down those stairs 50 times a day...I also smoked back then, so ciggy breaks were included in those stair runs. Every time someone had a heavy object to move they called me. I took a self defense class and the instructor said I kicked like a mule, so I was not allowed to do any more kicks in his class. I have always taken my legs for granted and now those rock hard muscles are loose, flabby and weak. Getting better though with the body weight squats. So now we have a gym opening up 10 miles away, maybe I will get a chance to do some presses in the future!
