I hope it doesn't involve surgery.

Does your doctor have a wait list for cancelations? Many of them do.

Morticia, I've read that bone spurs can be removed with arthroscopic surgery. I'm really afraid to do much walking as it seems to hurt the knee more.

Thanks Sherry. Ill ask if there's a cancellation list when I call on Monday. I'm pretty sure they leave some time on the schedule for people who call and need to be seen right away. I'm hoping to be able to get in next week.

Bone spurs hurt! I get them in my shins but not too bad. I'm sorry you are in pain Fritz! Hopefully you'll get in to Dr sooner than later!🩷🩷🩷

Thanks Diana! I'm not sure if it's the bone spurs that are causing me the pain. I really hope Iran see my doctor soon. So far, after nearly 2 weeks what I am doing isn't helping. Maybe if I stayed off my feet long enough I would feel. But I can't. I live alone and need to get up to let Bobby in and out of the house, to go the kitchen and bathroom, to feed the cats and scoop their litter boxes. I probably should go get my mail but that means going down steps which are really scary. I just can't believe I'd be fine one day and then wake up unable to put any weight on my knee. Sorry for whining so much

They can also use ultrasound to some effect. Garbage knees speaking here. 😝

Fritzy there is a new procedure call barbotage— I think that is how you spell it. Minimally invasive. They go in with a needle and break up the bone spur which is really like a hard plastic material. It seems you live in such a rural area that it might not be available to you. Meantime, while you and doc decide what next they can also do steroid injections. Temporary comfort measure. NSAIDs if you can take them

Thanks Kenna. My doctor is in Grass Valley and there is a nice hospital there. I had my gallbladder removed at the hospital and I know at least one person who had knee replacement surgery there. There are quite a few specialists and surgeons,so hopefully I'll be able get my knee taken care of. Knee issues are so common that I hope I don't have to go further away
