LOL DaddyM! When our son turned 16, we had an overnight Bday-Pool part for him. We had it catered so we had about 60 pounds of hot wings, w/potato salad, baked beans, chips, dips, cookies, a huge sheet cake, 5 gallons of ice cream. 8 boys spent the night. When we got up the next morning ALL the party food was gone, and every hot pocket in the freezer AND about 6 pounds of deli meat and cheese I had bought for lunches for the week, every soda pop, all the Gatorade and sweet tea we had in the house, plus two family sized boxes of Pop Tarts. I think they left an onion and some potatoes in the bottom drawer of the fridge. We could not even make toast, all the bread was gone. * boys knocked out almost 400.00 bucks of food in one night!! Bottomless pits on legs!

Debra, that story is hilarious! I have been fortunate in that I haven’t had to deal with that. We are starting to have two or three other kids over dinner every weekend now, and they are very controlled in their eating. Last night May have been the anomaly or potatoes are what sets off the hunger bells for this group. (Trying to talk OTB off the ledge here)

OTB my heart goes out to you. Your son is already training now so he will be little big beast when he hits his teens. Yeah you are screwed. Start saving now for your food bill in 10 years!

I had a coworker who had 3 genius boys, each just a year apart in age. The shortest is 6’4” and the tallest is 6’8”. All are computer science geeks and all have been vegetarian since they were little, by choice. They are all adults now . She and her husband are just normal people, in size and intelligence. They had a challenge just getting enough protein in them. They did eat fish, fortunately. One grew up to work at NASA, one teaches at Cornell university and the third is a doctor. My co— worker actually took classes in vegetarian cooking so she could make sure they got the calories and nutrition they needed. They were VERY BIG EATERS.

That is an awesome story Kenna. 3 geniuses and all very tall. Did any play basketball at all while in school?

Sounds like those coworker's 3 boys were Pescatarian, not Vegetarian. Hats off to you for hosting 5 teen boys, @Manatee. At least you know how you can clean out the fridge next time!

Daddy Manatee— non of them had any interest in football or basketball but they were under immense pressure to play during both highschool and college. Parents had to step in. All the boys skied, swam and did some weight lifting but never anything competitive.
