ZenusWarriorPrincess's Journal, 10 October 2023

I haven't tested ketones in weeks. I decided to test them today (16 hours fasted) after 104 carbs & 160g of protein yesterday. .04 reading. Metabolism mended? Peeping in and out of ketosis easily now, like people with unbroken metabolisms do naturally? My carbs haven't been as low as they were for the first few months in the last few weeks, but this was the highest day yet. Most have come from natural sources. I've been enjoying a little starchiness & fruit here & there. 🙈🙉🙊 End of confession. Beginning of an NSV? 🤞🫰

Great news! Happy you are able to widen your dietary choices a bit 😊

I'm not really sure how the whole ketosis thing works or what the readings mean. But I'm really glad that your diet plan seems to be effective and that it's working as it's supposed too. And it's awesome that you're able to eat some fruit without having headaches and feeling bad like you did when you ate watermelon a while back. 😊

Thanks, Lady. 💜🤞

@Leah... I'm thinking the headache came from the watermelon having a high glycemic index, and I was in fat burning mode. In other words, I probably shocked my system. I have added back some carbs by not only gradually increasing the number, but also starting back with low glycemic index, complex carbs. We will see how things go. Thanks for the support, ladies.

I saw today that my neighborhood grocery has Collin Street Bakery fruitcake in their bakery display. Ugh! That was the last thing I ate last year before I got back on track. They'll keep them up until after New Year, trying to decide if I want to celebrate with one when I hit one-year. Meh. Decisions decisions. lol

Right, phil?!?! lol... decisions, decisions. I'm still afraid of lots of processed foods, grains, & too much sugar. ...especially the added ingredients in some things that can make them more addictive.

I have the best relationships with my grocers, I always kid them why they got to put pecan pie (and other goodies) on such prominent display. They've all marveled at how much weight I've lost and how fast I've done it.

I love Collins Street Bakery fruitcake. I have ordered one every year since I was in college

They're the absolute best, Kenna! Anyone that thinks they don't like fruitcake has never had Collin Street.

Well... obviously, I've never tried Collin's Street Bakery fruit cake then...lol. If I were to have a complete "f" it dessert, it would be HOMEMADE pineapple pudding...lol. A complete "f" it meal would be to add HOMEMADE chicken & pastry, HOMEMADE dressing, and cranberry sauce. Decisions, decisions...lol. Thanksgiving may be a tough one...lol.

I can get in and out of ketosis easily. i don't have a blood tester anymore. i just had blood work and it's all wonkey. i was bummed. I'm not worrying about healing till i lose the weight. that's healing for me. hope you can get onto the gym.
