AuntieJan's Journal, 08 August 2011

Getting ready to hit the sack, have to get up earlier than usual to get to the gym and get back home in time to pick up my sister.

It is going to either be a really good day or a really bad day, depending on what happens at our meeting. After almost a year and a half we finally have a mediation appointment with the mortgage lender for our house, we will find out whether or not we will be finally approved for a modification on the loan. Like many others, we owe more on the house than it is currently worth, and our lender is one of the big three that got in major hot water for their shady lending practices. I say we because I also help pay for it, but the loan was in my sister's name along with her late husband.

So not much pressure right? Well at least the appointment is early in the morning so we can get it over with.

On a brighter note I had a great workout today and my stamina at 5.5mph is definitely improving! And it looks as if I will have a great weigh-in this week as well.

I made a really great fish dinner tonight and even my sister ate it! It's just simple pan-seared Tilapia but it is good, I served it with fettuccine and colorful veggies on the side. My portion was topped with a spicy salsa. Yum!

Well I must wrap up for tonight and get my evening duties done, if you have a prayer to spare for us tomorrow I'd appreciate it!

Peace out...........

Good luck at the mortgage lender..... Scary prospect, especially in today's economic climate. Well done on the stamina front, :-) and hope you have a good session this morning.... It will either be great or c**p, as you will be thinking of the meeting. My bet is, it will be great as it will "fire" you up :-). I hope all goes well at the mortgage lender... but they probably don't want the house, so will try to figure out how to make it work (I hope). And the dinner looks amazing! What type of Salsa do you use? It sounds like an amazing idea! I could see eating it with a size of herbed brown rice instead of pasta... mmmm...

Hello Brenda, thanks so much, you are right, they don't want the house, and they are so backed up with modifiactions it has taken a while to get to this point. As for the dinner, I have also made this with brown rice and it is equally good. The pasta I use is a multigrain and is enriched with flax, so it's pretty low glycemic impact as well. I used a brand our grocery store carries, Chachies, it's very chunky, fresh and quite spicy, very good combo with fish, chicken or pork. Have a great Tuesday!

Auntie - I am presuming from the above comments that things went OK? Sometimes I forget how lucky I am - just a few years ago we were thinking of selling the house and upgrading. But we didn't. So now, even though we have a simple little house I am happy with my simple little mortgage!

Thanks LJR, it was good and it is an economical fish as well. I have heard about the mashed Cauliflower (Rachel Ray I think), but I have yet to try it. Thanks for stopping by!
