littlesmom's Journal, 07 August 2011

Ok, today I'm giving in and decided it will be useful to start writing in the journal part of this as I am definitely finding myself incredibly depressed on this diet. I have been out of town on business for 7 days straight and I have tried as best I can on this Atkins induction time while I've been out of town. Tomorrow will complete my third week on induction and I have really struggled with having to eat all three meals out every day, and I am dying to eat something other than overcooked veggies and salads and restaurant food. Luckily tomorrow I go home, and hopefully can begin eating some more food. And weigh myself. Maybe I've lost a pound or two. Sure would be nice. I haven't really felt as though I have really lost any weight yet, although, truth be told, it looks like I'm hovering closer to 25g net carbs a day this week verses 20. But for three weeks now, I hsven't really felt as though I've lost anything and of course my husband is at home weighing himself and feeling quite proud that he's losing the weight. Really, how do you know you're on the right diet for your particular body? Who knows. I'm looking forward to feeling better about things tomorrow when I finally can get home. I'm hoping I'm not the only person who's experienced this on Atkins. How frustating. Here's to a more positive journal entry tomorrow.

Veggies in restaurants are a sad proposition usually. Getting home and eating good food should make you feel better. Keep your spirits up. There are a lot of Atkins people on this site who should be able to give some good tips.

It's very possible you are feeling out of sorts from being away from home this past week. And if hubby is also 'dieting' and telling you of his results...well, that's enough to frustrate any woman. Men lose faster than women. Period. Stinks, but true. As for the Atkins program - choose wisely (which it looks like you've been trying to do.) Nuts however, are not part of Induction. And the Atkins Bars, (while I understand you are traveling) are known STALLERS to alot of people. So if you get home and do not have much in the way of results, up your water intake, lose the bars, and eat clean induction foods only for the next 1-2 weeks. You will see things start to turn around! Much Love.
