DairyKing's Journal, 19 August 2015

Good Morning, FS Warriors! Well, so far so good. Yesterday, I ate well under 1500 calories, and it really wasn't because I was trying to starve myself; it was just that the portion sizes of the cuisine that was offered yesterday just didn't add up that high. Believe me, I will not waste away to nothing. Plus, I had the unfortunate happenstance of having to use up most of my evening snaking out some clogged plumbing. Nasty! I know I have to reroute some of the plumbing. Old schoolhouses were never designed to accommodate anything other than water or, you know what, going down the drains. So, that's one of my future projects. In the meantime, I know right where to go when there is a problem. Just means two showers that day instead of only one.

I have the nursing home gig tonight. There was a young lady in there, on our last visit, when we were done singing, demonstrated a beautiful rendition of Keith Whitley's "When You Say Nothing At All" as we were packing up. So, I put together the chords for that song, and I am going to have her come up and sing it with me tonight if she is there. They get a kick out of that kind of thing, and she'll get all kinds of attention if she does it.

We had some pretty powerful storms last night. We were in a tornado watch, and one actually touched down about 50 miles from us. The sky was looking pretty horrid there for a while. It gave me a chance to see if the trenches, drain tiles, and wall membrane, I am putting in the basement floor for water dispersal is going to work or not. It looks like it is. I can't be putting in an Endless Pool in a room that is going to have flooding. I thinking I am golden.

Well, anyway, only so much can occur in one day. Thanks for you indulgence in reading this. Talk to you later. Toodles!

Your list of projects sounds longer than mine! Sometimes a life in a place like The Villages (my brother lives there) sounds good, but I love being close to all my kids and grandkids, so all the projects are worth it. Enjoy your nursing home gig tonight!

Piece of cake! They are a captive audience, so it's probably me or Judge Judy on TV. Hmmm, maybe that's why there are so few people there sometimes. :D Thanks, Guys! The real challenge comes if we all go out to Dairy Queen for supper afterwards. Considering the Chicken Garden Greens salad and a drink as a viable option. I don't need anything heavy that late at night anyway.

No competition with Judge Judy. You're the winning hand.
