Thanks so much otb, I appreciate it.😁 The fitness thing has helped me stay sane... so now this journey has become both physical and mental. My life is great but I have a lot going on. Not problems, really, more like massive change on all fronts. It is a bit to process. Lol😅

Thank you, Ken! It took quite a while to get here (I started at 40 years old and now I'm 48). I had a hernia and knee operation. But I feel strong and believe I'm in a better place for my 50s.

Thank you, Wayne! Not sure why I only received notifications for the last two comments today... FS shenanigans...

Ken, I made small, sustainable changes. For the better part of the last 8 years, I only worked out 3 days a week for 20 minutes. My sons were younger then, and my attention was focused on them. By the time I joined FS, exercise had become a form of therapy as my life was undergoing a massive upheaval, the details of which I don't care to share, but has been intense. So yes. Lifestyle-change attitude (not a diet) and smaller, sustainable changes made a big difference for me! You can do this!

My problem with exercise is motivation. I’m trying to lose the weight and almost there and then I’d like to find something that I can do for the rest of my life. I think push-ups and other non weight related exercises are best. Maybe some dumbbells. I hurt my shoulder with upright rows over the winter.

Ken I use body weight, dumbells and walking. That is it. It also helps if there are hobbies you truly enjoy that are physical. Walking is kind of a hobby. My mom likes to dance. Dancing is not my thing; but she loves it. All that matters is you really do enjoy the activity and you are not lying to yourself about liking the activity. 💙

Yea Unity! I agree 100%. I play golf and like to free dive. I’m planning a trip to Florida in the winter to go diving in the shallows mostly. I play golf three times a week and try to walk every day as well. Im picking up a clay throwing class as well in the next month. I’m retired.
