This seems a bit anti-climactic now but it has been on my mind for the last several days. While I was actually out being somewhat productive today (translation: not here), the most interesting and delightful thing apparently happened. To everyone who helped take out the trash, a thousand thank yous and especially to the admins for doing what needed to be done. Paraphrasing Glinda the Good Witch, “You can come out now, it’s safe. She’s Dead.”
If I live to be 100 I will never understand what happened to her personality in the 9 months she was here. She lost 55 pounds but turned into a snarky (w)itch just like the one at the gym who was hanging all over her ex-BF when she was overweight and so miserable at the beginning. I felt sorry for her then and feel sorry for her now.
Moving on!
Sometimes a kind word or two is all it takes to turn someone’s day around, and you never know when it might be your turn to be in need. If you’re young enough that this song is before your time (lucky you!), I hope you’ll check it out on your favorite music site. This recording was a big part of Glen Campbell’s defining country-pop crossover career, hitting at #2 in the country chart and #1 on the adult contemporary.
Hope everyone is having a blessed day.
"Try a Little Kindness" by Curt Sapaugh and Bobby Austin as sung by Glen Campbell in 1969
If you see your brother standing by the road With a heavy load from the seeds he sowed And if you see your sister falling by the way Just stop and say, "You're going the wrong way"
You've got to try a little kindness Yes, show a little kindness Just shine your light for everyone to see And if you try a little kindness Then you'll overlook the blindness Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
Don't walk around the down and out Lend a helping hand instead of doubt And the kindness that you show every day Will help someone along their way
You’ve got to try a little kindness Yes, show a little kindness Just shine your light for everyone to see And if you try a little kindness Then you'll overlook the blindness Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
You’ve got to try a little kindness Yes, show a little kindness Just shine your light for everyone to see And if you try a little kindness Then you'll overlook the blindness Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
