I finally finished chemotherapy and radiation and am now focusing my attention on gaining back the 30 pounds I lost due to chemotherapy.

I'm working with my medical team on a plan to gain weight. in the meantime, I'm always hungry but my stomach shrank during treatment so I'm eating multiple times a day in smaller portions. Lots of smoothies too.

Sounds like a good plan. Are allowed whey protein powders in your diet? There are also plant protein powders you can supplement meals with to help you gain back muscle. You can enhance the flavor with fruit and flavors.

My oncologist prescribed Kate Farms Standard 1.0 (two servings daily). It has 1 calorie per milliliter. It's kind of like Ensure but it's organic and Vegan. It tastes a lot better than Ensure or any protein powder I've tried. I make one or two smoothies using the Kate Farms as a base. Here's the recipe: 1 carton Kate Farms Std 1.0 (chocolate) ½ cup Lifeway Nonfat Kefir 1 cup frozen wild blueberries ½ cup organic rolled oats ¼ cup walnuts I use a Nutribullet to blend. This smoothie has roughly 500- 700 calories per serving. Sometimes I substitute 2 tablespoons of a nut butter (peanut or cashew).

Sounds good, but if you want to gain weight, you need more calories. Can you add more nut sources, fruit, protein, or drink it more often. Macadamia nuts are high fat, calories, but I suppose they're also the most expensive.
