Heather MacD's Journal, 27 April 2023

*Let's see if my journal works today or not - I kept getting a Forbidden 403 every day I tried to post which is the last 4 days*

I've been dealing with a stye on my eyelid for the last 3 weeks. Started doing the hot compresses to try and pull it up and out has now made it grow to two stye's - one predominant on on the top lid and the 2nd less noticeable but hurts more is on the bottom one. I am waiting for these buggers to finally get to the draining process before I can finally start healing from them. I'm irritated by all this as I never have one on the top lid. I feels like the top one is reducing in size so hopefully that means its draining.

Did you know that you can have dandruff on your eyelids? Neither did I but apparently the medical term for it is Blepharitis and that is what is causing all this. I have to ride this one out with my water compresses and keeping it clear. Afterwards I will be using Blephagel Duo which is designed to help keep the eyelids clean and clear of abnormal oily secretions and other debris shed by the eyelids. It was suggested I start with doing it twice a day for a week and then move down to once a week till I'm done the box. I could have also used baby shampoo to deal with this but when it comes to my eyes, I'd much rather use this sterile & preservative free & hypo allergenic product on my eyes. The other product offered involved tea tree oil and again with me and my eyes, I am not messing around with that. Yes, I am stubborn!! I also listen to my inner self to guide me for things like this.

And it didn't let me finish my post. Oh well nothing important I guess.

My mom used to get that all the time. Sadly, I'm beginning to as well. Her doctor told her to use baby shampoo on a q-tip *gently* around her eye lashes, rinsing them off well afterwards. I use Lids eye wipes, which work rather well to keep them at bay. Of course, for both of us, consistency is the key. When we forget, we pay the price. :( GL with all that.
