Starchazr2's Journal, 16 August 2009

I am so bummed. I've gained .6 in the past two day's; and I've been so good both days. Yesterday I stayed with my plan, even with the B-day Party Dinner. They only had mexican food, not even a salad.... so I didn't eat, I explained my diet, and said I'd eat later at home. I didn't get dinner till about 8:30pm, and increased my protein since literature say's I should be about 1400 cal daily. I don't know if it's the fact that I ate so late (normally I eat around 5-6pm) and the increase in calories (protein).

I can't even say I have more energy, I'm alway worn out by early afternoon. I read caffine effects your blood sugar, so I've switching to decaf coffee, and only 2 cups per day (hopefully, I'm such a coffee addict), and staying with my TONS of water (avg 96 oz). I just feel I should have lost more than 5 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks. Maybe I'm stalling and should stick closer to the 1000 to 1200 caloris range. Time will tell.

Any advice would be so very much appreciated!!!!

You are losing weight at a safe and good rate. If you weigh daily, you do need to expect the scale to go up and down. Your body is made up of 60% water, so many different things will effect your weight including hormones, medications, exercise, sodium in food, etc. If you have been eating correctly, I wouldn't worry too much about the gain. You can also try varying your calories day by day. Going up and down might help. Good luck!

I've been given the advice to eat waaay more calories. I'm not sure where you are in your plan but perhaps you aren't eating enough. I'd seek out Baylor (on here and she's on the official Atkins site) and ask for her opinion and advice. She's awesome!

Thank you Ladies (Suzi, & Lainey)! Your advice and support are priceless! I'm certainly not giving up, as I'm commiting myself to this lifestyle change. I know we're all different, but I understand that induction is the time when you will lose the most, and I suppose after the 2 1/2 weeks I didn't expect to have a set back this soon since other "diets" I'd tried didn't for at least a month. Again, thank you for your comments, and especially the support! Good luck and light/right eating to you both!
