I had a really good day yesterday, although I was exhausted. I went to bed early because of a headache, but I am feeling good today, probably because I finally go a solid night's sleep.
This morning, I enjoyed a five mile hike through the parched hills of CA. It was beautiful, with the wind rustling through the fields of grass. I saw several beautiful birds, including two hawks drifting lazily on the air currents. I also saw a doe and her two babies. And many, many lizards. :)
I am savoring these last few days before my kids get out of school for the summer. My weekday hiking buddy has agreed to join forces to get all of our kids out on the trails during their break. I think there will be less complaining if they have some friends to talk to rather than mom taking them for a forced march. :)
