celestia76's Journal, 26 May 2015

I have been caving in and drinking soda occasionally again. I really need to get it together and avoid it. Although it tastes wonderful the empty calories are not worth it at all. It slows down my weight loss. Along with this it is very warm and I have been drinking much more water so I'm sure the weight is coming off slower because of the fluids as well. All in all I'm still losing so I am very happy! Have a wonderful day buddies :)

Extra water is good. It helps flush out your body. If you're going to drink a lot, that's the thing to drink.

I have a soda stream and have learned how to make my own concentrates. I sweeten with stevia. All my own ingredients. Probably healthier than store bought

Celestia, it's not for everybody, but I can't praise enough how much going soda free has helped me. It's tough. I know. I was a 1,800 to 2,000 calorie a day Mountain Dew consumer. I know that is way more than your average bear, but quitting was my answer to weight loss consistency. However, you do what works for you & don't worry about what everybody else is doing.

As I say I do have the soda stream but use it on rare occasion! For the most part I try to drink lots of water to keep my system clean, occasional decaf ice tea (unsweetened) and a soda on average one small about once a month if that.

Thank you all for your support and comments. I really do want to give up on soda all together, but it sure isn't easy to do. I'm happy that I've become a very active water drinker because for years I hated it. Has anyone ever drank water but found themselves even more thirsty afterwards? Oddly enough I experience it a lot.

If you're drinking municipal water or some of the bottled like nestle pure look 're, they have added salt "for flavor." Yucky! Maybe that's why. I don't even like my water cold. I'm weird though. And I do like the occasional fountain diet coke too.

I am drinking city water and I have hard water. It is pretty yucky but I know its good for me so I keep trying to drink it. I will get some good bottled water payday and see if that makes a difference. Thank you Msbuggirl :)
