Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement! I learned many things on this fitness journey that I’d like to pass on for those just starting.
1. Limit sugars and simple carbs. get sugars/carbs from fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
2. Limit intake of junk, processed, and fried food. I ate these only occasionally (once a month, in smaller quantities than before).
3. Increase lean meats and vegetable intake. For every serving of meat, I had a cup of vegetables. Example: one piece of chicken, one cup of broccoli, two pieces, two cups. I ate this way until satisfied/full.
4. I burned more calories than I was eating. easier when meat and vegetable intake goes up. still ate some sweets/salty foods every now and then, but I tracked everything and limited my consumption. I used my Apple Watch to track my total daily energy expenditure. Even went to sleep with it.
5. I ate strictly whole foods most days. Whole grains, fresh veggies & fruits, and lean meats.
