Gym arse-kicking? Nailed it. I showed the new gym who's boss. I ran there (3/4 mile), did 20 hard minutes on the stairstepper (I take names on those things), 10 minutes of pilates, 10 minutes of abs and 20 minutes of free weights before running the 3/4s of a mile back. I am just pouring sweat and have chugged 3 glasses (pints, so 6 eight ouncers) of water in 25 minutes because I just used up that much.

So, this is what it feels like to be back in shape, huh? Can go hard for a long time and just feel worked, but awesome, afterward. It's been six years since I've had this kind of endurance and strength. It feels good. No, it feels great.

So, this means I'm at the new gym, right? Yup, I am. Started today, actually. I really kinda love it. It's partially underground in what used to be an old factory, so it's all beautiful brick walls with tall ceilings. They have 10 treadmills, two stairsteppers (!!!!!), six ellipticals, and two bikes. They barely have any weight equipment; just free weights and benches. I'll have to brush up on my free weight exercises. There was only one person there over the age of 35, which is the polar opposite of the last gym I was at. Everyone was working HARD. No one was walking and reading or barely sweating. Grunting, panting, etc. It's a good environment in which to get pumped up.

They have....the most amazing room for classes. Huge windows which overlooks a dark wooden garden that seriously looks like you're in the country side. On walls that don't have windows it's all mirrors, something I'm used to from being a dancer for 15 years. Classes (P90X supplement, zumba, pilates and something that looks like kickboxing and some sort of asian fighting style mixed together) are free. I'll be doing Zumba on Wednesday nights and pilates on Thursday afternoons if I don't get my full time job I'm in the running for...so I would have classes on Tuesday (yoga! Can't stop that!), Wednesday, and Thursday!

They have locker room and showers, things I didn't have at my last gym (but this one is 15 bucks cheaper a month, I don't get it). There's also tanning, specialty drinks, and protein smoothies you can buy.

I am going to love this place and it's seriously going to whip me into shape. I bet I could lose 5 lbs from now until vacation because I'm going to be going so much more often and just working so much harder. I AM EXCITED.

As I just mentioned: vacation is coming up. Exactly one month away! Pumped! Gotta lose that little bit more because...well...this stomach has to look good for the midriff showing outfit I'm wearing for Saturday's attempt at the most Trekkies in costume in one room. Woo!

My adventures with spaghetti squash continues. I've gone six consecutive meals with it (including breakfasts). Tonight I'm going to put mushroom gravy on it. We'll see how it goes..but I doubt anything could go wrong with it. If it's good in eggs, it's going to be good with gravy. Can't get much more odd than putting it in eggs.

Haha, I love how all over the place this journal entry is! You definitely ARE excited. That gym sounds AMAZING! Good luck with the spaghetti squash recipes - can't say I ever tried anything but spaghetti with it. I do love it though! Mmmmmmm, I'll have to try that "mac and cheese" thing you did with it if I ever get a cheese sauce that I like. You would think after working at Stouffer's for a summer I could whip a cheese sauce up outta nowhere, but alas.... Anyway, here's a link to the cauliflower recipe you wanted. http://www.fatsecret.com/recipes/cheesy-spicy-cauliflower-bake/Default.aspx if that doesn't work for some reason it's in my recipes. I made mine with miracle whip instead of mayo; you can tell the taste but I still liked it.

Loved reading this! Just made my morning! Journals like these are exactly why I sit on this site all day because they keep me motivated to get in my workout when I get home! Way to go on the new gym!! Glad you love it!

@Kziemianski There's just SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT! :D BTW: the gravy on it was amazing! I pan fried some squash with some olive oil (it doesn't crunch up but it gets the lightly burnt taste) and then poured it over top. SO GOOD. The link didn't work, but I'll get it from your recipes. I hate how you can't link out of this place. Also: I love the taste of Miracle Whip, so that'll work out just fine! --- @starbird Aww! :3 Thank you!
