I may have to be induced by this coming Monday, July 18th. We are waiting for the results of a blood test. I might have a condition called cholestasis which means my liver is letting bile into my bloodstream which could be lethal to the baby. If the test result is positive, they want to get her out by the time I'm 38 weeks or shortly thereafter. The 38 week mark is to make sure that her lungs have matured.

yeah good luck, hopefuly it's a false alarm! If it does, no sweat the med field is so advanced nowadays, trust, they know what they are doing. I hope your spirits are high, no need for stress. How are you feeling?

Hi Chris! Like Cindyshine said, nowadays doctors know what they are doing and I'm sure they will make the right decision for you and your baby. The most difficult part is to wait for the results, I know how stressful it can be... Everything will be all right! Please keep us posted. I keep my fingers crossed!

Try not to stress yourself Chris!!! I'm sure everything will be fine!! Still, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers!! 38 weeks isn't very early at all ... not even considered premature!!

We are so lucky to have the kind of technology that gives that information. Hope the test goes well and either way it won't be very long before you meet your baby girl : )

Wow. I can't believe you are so close! Though I guess it makes sense. I have thought of you and hoped things were going well. I'm sorry to hear about the potential complication, but 38 weeks is considered full-term (as I'm sure you know!) so no big deal right? As Sharon said, it's times like these when we can all be thankful for modern medicine!
