Last work day this week. Getting ready to travel home tomorrow for Easter. I've got to keep my motivation high for the weekend. I can't control what food options will be available & what snacks will be laying around, like I can at home. I read a quote this morning that had been derived from some six sigma training I took years ago & I think it will help me fend off the temptations I will face. "If you eat what you've always eaten, you will weigh what you've always weighed." That is powerful stuff to my psyche. The old Jon is gone. The new Jon no longer eats what old Jon ate. The new Jon no longer drinks what the old Jon drank. The new Jon is disciplined. The new Jon plans his caloric intake & sticks to the plan. The new Jon, who is currently embodied somewhere inside this massive outer shell old Jon created, is chiseling his way out. Food does not dictate new Jon's actions. New Jon owns every situation. New Jon is strong mentally. New Jon has already won, because he has taken control away from the demon that controlled him. Old Jon, the scale, & the mirror are the only ones who haven't noticed they lost; but it's only a matter of time & math. When enough time passes, the math will kick in, & they will realize old Jon doesn't weigh what old Jon used to anymore. I'm ready. I'm Mel Gibson, riding on a white horse with my face painted blue ready. Bring on the battle. I'm going to kick this weekends caloric ass. Who's with me?
