Interesting. I've avoided them because they're too processed for my tastes. Plus, I believe the whole protein thing is overblown and they're not necessary. Look up Christopher Gardner on YouTube for some great rants on how Americans are over-obsessed with protein. He's a Stanford nutrition researcher. I also saw something this morning that in the Blue Zones, where people live the longest, there isn't a huge amount of protein in their diets

Can you just give us a hint - yes or no? My doctor told me not to have them since he wants me to avoid processed foods and protein shakes and products are processed.

I read it.. I think the gist of it was more no than yes, although it wasn't absolute. My vote is to listen to your doctor on this one

Writing, you are correct. People in the blue zones eat a high carb diet, but they may also get much of their proteins from plants, such as legumes.

Indeed, they do, shirfleur. Beans are involved in the diets of a lot of long-lived populations
