Spud Daddy's Journal, 19 July 2022

Been eating less and exercising more. Been taking my dog for 30 minute to 45 minute walks two to three times a week. We just got back from our longest walk yet, 50 minutes. Not bad for a crippled old fart trying to wrangle an undisciplined and incredibly STRONG boy beagle doggy.

The pic is my Bailey Dog, my sweet inspiration!

You are doing so great! I'm sure your dog friend is super happy with the walking. Keep on truckin' as they used to say.

I bet he loves the walks. We always say “a tired dog is a happy dog” and daily walks definitely help with that. If your boy is a puller, look into “Positive Reinforcement Training.” It works with the most willful pups, provides further stimulation for them and improves your bond. As with all training, consistency is key.

I have a female beagle! Still a puppy, turns one next month, shes spunky! very stubborn dogs but will do just about anything for a treat. Walks are tough; she loves to tug and follow her nose 🐽, but hopefully she will adapt in time with more leash training...Training her is totally different compared to Retriever, which is the only other dog ive had. Love the cuddles though, such a sweetheart!
