So it's official... I am getting a cold. :(
What does everyone else do with your exercise routine when you have a cold?
I haven't really had a cold since I've been exercising (or since I have cared that I exercised), so I haven't really had to think about it.
Any thoughts would be awesome!

I've leaned towards taking it easy. I back off the exercise and worry more about the food. My thinking is that rest will help me heal up faster. I have no idea if that's he proper approach or not...hehe. Hope you start feeling better soon :)

In yoga they say that when you push yourself (exercise wise) that you strengthen your immune system. Also sweating is a way your body uses to get rid of toxins in your body.

Lot's of fluids and rest for the first day. If you have access to a sauna or steam room (gym?) that is great for sweating it out.

I agree with Jody. When I have a cold, I stikk exercise but not as intensly. You could even go for a brisk walk outdoors which helps with stuffiness. But if I get sinus headache with the cold then no exercise for me. Hope you feel better soon.

Well, since I'm not good at exercising, I rest my body as much as I can and drink lots of water with citrus fruit. ;) Hope you feel better soon my friend.

If it affects my breathing, I take it easy, mostly because I know I won't be getting the best workout and I'll end up getting headachey and I'm prone to sinus infections. I will sometimes walk outdoors instead of going to the gym, though, to avoid the extra germies! I've noticed that when I go to the gym semi-sick, I wake up the next day really sick! I think it's the machines...

Thanks everyone! I did end up doing a bit of exercise after some of your encouragement. Just 30 mins - nothing crazy, just a "Walk at Home" DVD by Leslie Sansone. Just to keep my body moving, since I don't feel like death yet, and am not sure how long this cold could potentially last, I don't want to go a week without exercising. I'm hoping that sweating will sweat out something and I'll be better soon... LOL
