We are trying to get back to normal or whatever we call what we do every day. I turned 70 and I feel better than I have for most of my life, even though I was not overweight until after menopause. The other day I almost felt like running. I was a runner in school, back in the dark ages, but after a life threatening auto accident that almost killed me I was forced to stop and was never supposed to start up again so.......... no running. I must admit I did run a little recently and it felt good and no damage was done. My orthopedist would kill me if he knew and I'm not going to tell him. The gist of this is that being obese feels terrible and losing weight fixes that. I'm still obese but closer to not being so.
Thanks to our insurance company and big pharma hubby missed 2 half doses and one full dose of his chemo med. I don't lose weight much when I'm stressed. I'm not really a stress eater but according to my Fitbit I am only sleeping 4 plus hours a night. My carbs and calories are not low enough to suite me but soon I will be over the time period when we eat out a lot and eat off plan a lot so things should improve. My hubby will be melancholy because he loves eating off plan. He does every day but doesn't count it. He is a total Cheeto freak. You know the type - permanently orange stained fingers.
I am not losing but I am not gaining either so that is good. I have lost 54 pounds since last July 1 so I'm not complaining. And I don't look like I weigh as much as I do. I have a lot of loose hanging skin though. We called them bat wings but others call them bingo wings, tuck shop arms, auntie wings, nannna wobble, nan flaps, or my favorite - sugargliders. And then there is the paunch, pooch, FUPA, fupa-chalupa, guttocks, supa dupa fupa, fupapotamas, gutfunk, fupastank, biscuit-hoffer, burger locker, unibush, land manatee, etc. there are a million names for this. We just called it an apron. I won't get into the thunder thigh slang as it can get pretty graphic. Amusing but naughty and a teensy bit cruel to those of us buffalo butts who sport such items. By the way, many of us fat heifers really don't care what you call us. There are worse things than being fat, like being stupid. LOL. Many of us are both. I'm fat but I'm not stupid. I'm mostly obnoxious. Have an awesome fupa-dupa day.
