Evie1010's Journal, 12 May 2011

All is well w/ my WoE! I am enjoying being on phase 2 - and I seem to be adjusting well. My first transition was adding more carbs thru vegetables. My second transition was adding almonds - 1 oz per day. I am still keeping my carbs at around 25 net per day - will be adding a bit more, soon. I am finding that I love almonds! I read in my Atkins book to avoid snacking from the container and instead, to measure out 1 ounce portions in small baggies. This idea has worked wonderfully for me. It's so easy to grab and go and know I will have a healthy snack when I need to rev up my metabolsim.

I leave tomorrow to go on a much-needed vacation with Jim to Historic Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. We will enjoy staying at(timeshare) -the beautiful at Kings Creek Plantation. Two other couples will be joining us for the weekend in the lovely 3BR luxury cottage; and then Jim and I will stay along for a few more days all by ourselves. Today is busy with all the many tasks necessary to complete before leaving town. So much to do - so little time! (We actually were supposed to be on the road right NOW, but delayed our trip one more day to tackle more of our to-do list.)

I will be staying on plan while traveling - for sure! I am even bringing a cooler with atkins-friendly foods so that food-prep will be a cinch! Nothing will deter me from my plan. I am focused and have found too much success thus far to waste a week's progress and give up on my eating plan for the convenience of taking "off" - being away from my "controlled enviroment". I am in control - I tell my body what to do - it's not the other way around.

Today is a great day! I won't let anyone rain on my parade. I will go over any obtacle that comes my way! I will go under, I will go around, I will go thru any mountain that stands in my way because I am highly motivated, absolutely dedicated and extremely successful!! YESSS!!

Don't tell God how big your mountain is - Tell your mountain how big your God is!

Good for you doing OWL according to the rules!!! So many people get off track there by adding all sorts of things and not following "the rules." I bet you're happy that Jim's knee/leg has recovered enough for you both to go off to a timeshare vacation. Enjoy the trip!

And, people, let me tell ya, it is so much easier trimming 30 feet of shrubs 50 pounds lighter! I didn't even feel like I had to lie down and die afterwards...and that's sayin' something.
